16 Tue | Dr. Godwin Leung Tat Chi, a specialist in cardiology, spoke and explained to Serrans the various heart related problems and their causes. Advice was given on how to detect and avoid them. The choice of diet and the food to avoid were also brought to our attention. Questions were asked of Dr. Leung by Serrans. |

2 Tue | Professor Lui Tai Lok spoke on the unresolved issues of Hong Kong post 1997. These issues included:- the historic background regarding the confidential discussions between the United Kingdom and the People's Republic of China on the return of Hong Kong to the Chinese sovereignty; the formation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as a "tacit" understanding" between U.K and PRC; the formulation of the Basic Law; the unexpected rapidity of the social and economic changes in the PRC and cultural differences between the PRC and Hong Kong. 29 Sat | Upon the recommendation of Serran Michael Lau and through his arrangement, 24 Serrans and family members visited the"Treasures from Tsarskoye Selo--Residence of the Museum of History " The group was not only amazed at the rich collection of treasures magnificently displayed, they were deeply impressed with the work imvolved in bringing about the exhibition and the thorough briefing given them by the docent on the history of the Romanov dynasty, highlights of the exhibition and details on some of the exhibits. Though the visit lasted for almost 2 hours, the group did not feel a bit tired but keen to learn more of the Tsarskoye Selo. The visit came to an enjoyable end at the museum cafe for a cup of its signature "Hong Kong milk tea" and pork bun. |

18 Tue | At our 10th General Meeting, Most Rev Joseph Ha OFM spoke on "Apostolic Exhortation of Pope Francis : Joy of the Gospel". Bishop Ha was presented with a statute of Our Lady of Sheeshan and sets of postcard of St Francis of Assisi. |

4 Tue | At our 9th General Meeting, Ms. Barbie Tung, a renowned motion picture producer, talked to us about the role of the producer in the motion picture industry. She has produced 17 motion pictures many of which enjoyed great box office success. Interesting and touching encounters in the making of motion pictures were shared with us. 21 Tue | At our 8th General Meeting, Very Rev. Dominic Chan VG gave a talk on "Permanent Deacons and their Missions". He shared with us back in 1992, the late Cardinal John B. Wu approved the ordination and service of permanent deacons for Hong Kong and at present there are 19 serving permanent deacons in the Diocese of Hong Kong. The missions and work of permanent deacons were outlined to us. | |||
7 Tue | At our 7th General Meeting, Mr Pang Chun Yu Giovanni and Miss Suen Ka Po Bobo, the two representatives from Hong Kong attending the 6th Asian Youth Day - Daejon South Korea, shared with us their joyous and precious experience of meeting with and talking to His Holiness Pope Francis.

16 Tue | Dr. Frederick Cheung Hok Ming, Senior Lecturer of the Department of History of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, gave a talk on "Learning Christianity through Songs and Movies" at our 6th General Meeting. Songs like "By the Rivers of Babylon", "A Man Come Into Egypt" and "The Exodus Song" were introduced and a clip of the movie "Samson and Delilah" was shown. | |||
2 Tue | Our Club was most honoured and privileged to have the Most Rev. Ignatius Wang, Auxillary Bishop Emeritus of San Francisco, to celebrate our pre-general meeting Mass for vocation with our Spiritual Director, Fr. John B. Tsang. After Mass, Bishop Wang was kind enough to attend our 5th General Meeting and share with our us his vocation to priesthood and the current state of religious vocation in his diocese. At the start of the meeting,1st VP Joyce Chang, 3rd VP Wilfred Lee and Dominic Tang celebrated their birthday. |

30 Sat | The Episcopal Ordination of Three Priests as Auxillary Bishops of Hong Kong: 16 Serrans, some accompanied by their spouses, were among the hundreds of faithful who attended the Episcopal Ordination of the Most Rev. Michael YEUNG Ming-cheung, Most Rev. Stephen Lee Bun-sang and Most Rev. Joseph HA Chi-shing, OFM as Auxillary Bishops of the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Hong Kong from 3.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. They stayed on after the ceremony for the tea reception hosted in honour of the Auxillary Bishops at the playground of the Raimondi College and managed to see, at close range, bishops who came all the way from the Vatican, Taipei, Macau, Germany, Japan, Korea and the U.S.A. for the occasion and extend in person their heartiest congratulations to the three VIPs of the reception. |

He spoke of Matteo Ricci S.J. on his 'Accent to Beijing' with the aid of a world map made by Matteo Ricci, his portrait and other publications. Our Chaplain Fr. 31 Thu | Our Club and the Hong Kong Catholic Marriage Advisory Council (HKCMAC) jointly organized a dinner party at the Hong Kong Club to celebrate the 75th Birthday of His Eminence Cardinal John Tong. Among the 58 participants at the party were Archbishop Kwong, Bishop Emeritus, and Mrs. Kwong, Bishop Michael Yeung, Fr. John Baptist Tsang, Fr. Joseph Yim, Lady Pauline Cheung and Madam Leung Kit Wah. The evening started off with an opening prayer by Archbishop Kwong. Mrs. Louise Chan, Chairlady, Hong Kong Catholic Marriage Advisory Council and Serran Peter Lee, President of our club, took turn to congratulate Cardinal Tong and addressed the gathering. A sumptuous buffet dinner then followed. Close to the end of the dinner, Mrs. Helena Lee of HKCMAC sang a Chinese folk song while members of the Club sang "Salve Regina" This was followed by cake cutting and presentation of birthday card, a rosary and laisee to Cardinal Tong. The evening ended in a high note with blessing from Cardinal Tong. |

Wan shared how he found his 8 years' life in the Holy Spirit Seminary fruitful and memorable and how he treasured his long and valuable association with Serra Club. A souvenir silver coin of Pope John Paul ll was presented to him. |

1 Thu | The Serra Club's Mother's Day luncheon celebration took place at Craigengower Cricket Club (CCC). Sr. Mabel Chan, Chairperson of the Association of Major Religious Superiors of Women in Hong Kong and some 140 mothers and sisters joined the occasion. John Wong, our President, made the welcoming speech and launched our revamped website. Fr. Pierre Lam MEP VG addressed us and said grace. Quiz, table prizes and lucky draw brought entertainment, excitement and laughter. Dr. Mamie Lau gave a great talk on healthy living and generously gave her book "Healthy Living 360" to the mothers and sisters. Fr. Tsang blessed the gathering after leading the closing songs 'May the Good Lord Bless & Keep You' and 'Salve Regina'. |

President John Wong led fellow Serrans to attend the ordination ceremony and the celebration dinner hosted by the Holy Spirit Seminary. |
